For over 30 years, Second Faith Temple Community Outreach has been a pillar in the Bronzeville community providing a variety of services to the nearby neighbors of 424 E. 49th Street in Chicago, IL and beyond.
Open to all, the weekly 6pm tp 8pm Friday feeding program provides free, hot, nutritionally balanced meals to under-served clients throughout the city.
The clothing ministry makes donated gently used clothing available to clients at no cost during the weekly feeding program or via appointment.
Basic Computing Skills in Keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Intro to the Internet courses are available at the on-site computer lab.
Second Faith Temple Outreach aspires to be one of the best not-for-profit community based, affordable training facilities in the city/state. As our clientele continues to grow, we desire to expand our facility allowing clients the ability to resume eating their meal in our establishment as well as increasing the spacing available for give-away clothing and computer services.
(1) To promote public and self-sufficiency and alleviate human suffering by providing direct services to those in need including, but not limited to sustenance and resources that preserve dignity and wholeness of individuals and families while they move toward independence.
(2) To provide charitable, educational, mentoring, and tutorial programs for at risk youth and adults.
(3) To respond to the community needs by providing food, clothing distribution, social services, temporary assistance, economic development and restoration.
Join us in the basement of 424 E 49th Street, Chicago, IL on Fridays to assist with our weekly feeding ministry. Please arrive by 5pm to get your assignment. If you need community service hours approved, please let the director or head cook know upon arrival.
We accept donations to help buy food, pay for supplies, materials and obtain instructors for the various training programs. Donations of new and gently used clothing and shoes are also accepted.
